Communication design strives to draw in, motivate, pique desire in, and motivate recipients of messages to take action. It could involve influencing behavior, communicating a message, or sharing knowledge. Communication design is a process that combines technical proficiency in areas like color theory, page layout, typography, and creating visual hierarchy with strategic business thinking, market research, problem-solving, creativity, and these other elements. Communication designers translate ideas and information using a variety of media.
This Masters program helps in building a strong foundation in understanding aesthetics, visual Culture, design thinking and storytelling. It equips the students to apply the basics of design principles over a wide range of mediums that can enhance effective communication. The program offers students an ample opportunity to pursue professional development in narrative practices, graphic design, illustration, photography, typography, image processing, motion graphics, animation and film and video making. Students learn through free hand sketches, computer aided design, practical hands-on working with the various mediums, onsite projects, and travel and explorations. The student is given training and inputs in the theoretical as well as the practical aspect of the subject. . The curriculum is designed so as to equip the students to develop creative and innovative design solutions and have a successful career in the field, whether it be as professionals or as independent practitioners.
