UG Diploma in Fashion Design is a one year course custom-made for individuals from various backgrounds of education who have their interest and skills on fashion and apparel designing.

UG Diploma Fashion At DOT!

The course is framed in a non-semester pattern. Students get to learn the basic and intermediate skills needed to visualize a concept, convert it into a 2D pattern draft and then further translate it into an actual garment. They will be introduced to the basic idea of design & aesthetics, followed by the intermediate level of skills on conceptualization, exploration, sample development and garment construction. The students will be trained with hands-on practical sessions supported with a strong knowledge on the theories of fashion concepts. Students are supposed to finish with a diploma project which showcases their skills & knowledge that they learnt via the course

Do you need to be able to sketch to become a fashion designer?

For admission into any fashion course, basic sketching abilities will be tested, but is not the only aspect on which a student is admitted into the program. Sketching can be developed later as well. The students will be trained to render fashion sketches on paper and digitally during their term here. The skill of bringing your ideas to paper is an essential part of Fashion Designing which will be taught during your course.

What is the eligibility for joining a one-year diploma course in Fashion Design?

What are the Selection Criteria to Join UG Diploma in Fashion Design in DOTS?

DOT School of Design conducts DOT-DAT (Design Aptitude Test) applicable for students interested to start their Design education at DOT. DOT-DAT comprises two levels –

  • Written Examination :
    Round 1 - Creative Quotient Test (CQ Test)
    Round 2 - On Table Test
  • Portfolio Submission
